許芯慈是一位臺灣視覺藝術家。她透過裝置、影像及雕塑等形式呈現與敘事,勾勒地方在想像與現實之間的輪廓。她的藝術實踐基於對於地方的記憶、情感、理解與身體感知,不斷地審視接近地方的不同方式,並試圖測繪地方的在想像中的樣貌。其作品根植於空間上的實質事物與空間作為載體之概念的比喻及象徵意義間的對應關係中。許芯慈於1995年出生於臺灣臺南,成長於臺北。於2018年取得國立臺北藝術大學藝術學士學位,2021年取得荷蘭Frank Mohr Institute藝術碩士學位。目前生活與創作於荷蘭格羅寧根。

 

Jui-Tsz Shiu is a Taiwanese visual artist. She presents and narrates through installations, images and sculptures, and outlines the place between imagination and reality. Her artistic practice is based on the memory, emotion, understanding and physical perception of a place, constantly examining the different ways of approaching it, and trying to map the its imaginary appearance. Her works are rooted in the correspondence between the substance of space and the metaphor and symbolic meaning of the concept of space as a carrier. 

Jui-Tsz Shiu was born in Tainan, Taiwan in 1995 and grew up in Taipei. She obtained a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the National Taipei University of the Arts in 2018 and a master's degree in fine arts from the Frank Mohr Institute in the Netherlands in 2021. Currently lives and works in Groningen, the Netherlands.
